Are you unable to sleep? Having challenges losing weight? Can’t focus? Have no sex drive? Feeling depressed or stressed? You could be suffering from Adrenal Fatigue! Adrenal Fatigue can wreak havoc in your life. In the more serious cases, the activity of the adrenal glands are so diminished that you may have difficulty getting out of bed or holding down a steady job. If lethargic adrenals are left untreated, it starts to affect other organs. Changes will occur in your carbohydrate, protein and fat metabolism, fluid and electrolyte balance, heart and cardiovascular system.
The real question is why is this adrenal fatigue so popular in 2014? Why are so many people overweight? Stressed? Running around on Zanex? Taking Ambien to sleep? It’s because there is NO WAY we are getting the nutrients we need in our food to sustain these adrenals. I don’t care how well you think you eat, or how organic you think you buy, it’s just not possible. It’s not possible because our soil is depleted of nutrients and minerals. Our soil is stripped of the essential phytonutrients that are required to keep us from having dementia, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer. There are multiple studies to support this, but one of my favorites comes from Donald Davis from the University of Texas. He found that at least 43 different fruits and vegetables found a “reliable” decline in protein, calcium, iron, phosphorus, b2 and Vitamin C. This decline on average was 25% from 1950-1999. Guess that’s why you really didn’t hear of your grandmas needing Ambien or some crap for depression.
So, the bottom line is everybody needs to supplement with vitamins and minerals.
Along with supplementation, Acupuncture may also help with adrenal fatigue. Acupuncture is a centuries-old system that uses extremely fine needles to stimulate certain points in the body. Long ago, acupuncturists defined 14 different lines – known as “meridians” – in the body. When your life force – known as your “qi” or “chi” (pronounced “chee”) – becomes trapped, acupuncture frees it, relieving pain, discomfort, or other symptoms you might be experiencing. Acupuncture, therefore allows your body and organs to work the way they should! If your adrenals are lethargic or decreased, acupuncture will increase them.
